let you know if you have been successful.
I will then send my Paypal email (not the same as the email
above) or bank details along with the total amount
Postage costs added on top at cost. All items will be sent
registered and tracked when this service is available.
I will monitor responses the first 2 hours of the sale on
Sunday, but will wait until the next day before notifying of any wins, in case
there are any email delays. The first to claim wins on the set sales
I will update a master list on this special blog page https://purepopsetsale.blogspot.com/
Sold items will turn red and
be marked as sold
Important: Only communicate via email. I
will not accept requests via Facebook messenger, instagram, What's app
etc...This is to make it a level playing field as much as possible
EU/Worldwide Shipping
Unless asked to do otherwise, I
will mark the customs declaration as “gift” with a low value (so no tax to pay).
Although there are no problems doing this when sending to the US or
Australia, customs in the EU have been over-zealous since July 2021, so records can get
stuck in customs for a number of days. Although I will mark packages as gift
with a low value some countries (Germany in particular) tend to charge import
duty (usually under € 10).
Grading
I don’t use the term Mint. I don’t believe that records
manufactured over 30 years ago, even if unplayed, can be called mint.
Grading: Record/Cover
EX: Means either “near mint” to some light very marks with
hardly any noticeable noise. Sleeve has no or only minor wear.
VG: Means means some minimal background sounds and more
pronounced marks which do not affect the listening experience in a major way.
Sleeve may be creased, minor discolouring, the odd fraying, some ringwear, seam
split and perhaps some writing.
G: Means noticeable clicks or pop, may have scratches,
but doesn’t skip or jump. Sleeve may be ripped, tape repair, large writing,
sticker removal damage etc...
Fair: Not a pleasant listening experience, the disc is
damaged, just a stop gap before upgrading. Sleeve is badly damaged, not one to
frame on the wall...
Poor: I don’t sell records in poor condition
Please note that in many cases
Youtube clips are for reference and not from the record for sale

Wild Fuzz
Heaviness! Alligator Wine was the 2nd
and last single by In-Sex who are better known for Penitentiary Planet Blues/
Space Man…however this one blitzes all over their other effort. Their cover
of Alligator Wine takes the essence of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, rolls it in
grease with a heavy dose of lard before infusing it with amphetamine -laced
psychedelics for its glorious
fuzzed-out finale. X on label |

Part 2: Mini 48hr Auction (Acetates)
·
Same
process as the record auction above
· Note
about acetates: Acetates are not pressed, they are one-off cuts done in real
time either at the recording studio or mastering suite.
· They
are not supposed to be played intensively, but were used for reference or
sometimes demos to be given to the musician/producer or record company.
Sometimes they might be a one-off, but usually 2-3 acetates might be made,
rarely more

Loser/ Star Lord - Emidic Hear full clips of both sides http://www.ecommerceplayer.com/MediaPlayer.aspx?id=f1bae419-dd16-46fb-b087-f785ca0adf85 |
Pre Mott! Fancy
were a Hard Glam foursome formed in Southend. Prior to being kidnapped as a
direct replacement for Ian Hunter, Nigel Benjamin was their lead singer. The
line-up also included Bob Banasiak on guitar, Phil Mitchell on bass, and
Chris Holibon on drums. Banasiak would
join Angel (Good Time Fanny) soon after releasing their sole single Star Lord
on Sticky. Who Would Be The Loser is
unreleased and is by far the best performance out of the three known tracks.
Not sure if the version of Star Lord is the same as the version released on
Sticky. .Condition a few marks and blotches but plays well, Star Lord is a
bit more crackly with 2 small skips.

Totally inept
Bonehead Boogie/Rock n Roll revival. The band sound very young. The singer is
straining to hit the notes and the guitar player has a fuzz pedal that he
just bought so was going to use it throughout. The A side is written by I.
Hall and the surprising information is that Jailhouse Rock was in fact
written by I. Hall with C. Patmore -who knew? |

2 years
before Punk and the revolution craved for here, is not about
overthrowing the government or kicking Ted in the teeth, these guys just
want a “decent” life. So
basically this is not a Third World War rallying call to arms, but
a bouncy Glam//Pub rock ditty which is pretty hooky The other
side Drive is er…more driving with some gritty guitar. Don’t be
fooled by the UA catalogue number. What probably happened is that an engineer
at Trident had a left over unused acetate |

underrated stomping Glam. This would
be their last UK release prior to their last single that was only released in
Holland. Stamped demo with date |

Bonehead Folkrock? Hard
Loner? Heavy Folk Psych more like. The track starts out quite sedate, but
then builds and gets meatier and meaner as it goes along. An obscure one for
sure. |

Dizzy's Farm - Vodka
Collins/Chattanooga Blues -HMR (US) Hear
the record itself https://youtu.be/WU_8znRK23U |
A complete mystery
disc here. Vodka Collins is a good 70s rocker, with some gritty
guitar featuring leslie speaker-like sound during the cool guitar
interplay; great playing anyhow…Chattanooga Blues is an uptempo
cowbell driven rural choogler; about the merits of moving to the country,
upright yet bouncy. Please note the record sounds less crackly now as I have
given it a good clean since the Youtbe recording was made |
