Important: Only communicate via email. Use purepop1ukATyahooDOTcoDOTuk

I will not accept requests via Facebook messenger, instagram, What's app etc...This is to make it a level playing field as much as possible

EU/Worldwide Shipping

Unless asked to do otherwise, I will mark the customs declaration as “gift” with a low value (so no tax to pay).

Although there are no problems doing this when sending to the US or Australia,  customs in the EU have been over-zealous since July 2021, so records can get stuck in customs for a number of days. Although I will mark packages as gift with a low value some countries (Germany in particular) tend to charge import duty (usually under € 10). In case I will be at the Den Bosch fair from the 11th November, so could bring items there and arrange a meet

Grading. I don’t use the term Mint. I don’t believe that records manufactured over 30 years ago, even if unplayed, can be called mint.

Grading: Record/Cover

EX: Means either “near mint” to some light very marks with hardly any noticeable noise. Sleeve has no or only minor wear.

VG: Means means some minimal background sounds and more pronounced marks which do not affect the listening experience in a major way. Sleeve may be creased, minor discolouring, the odd fraying, some ringwear, seam split and perhaps some  writing.

G: Means noticeable clicks or pop, may have scratches, but doesn’t skip or jump. Sleeve may be ripped, tape repair, large writing, sticker removal damage etc...

Fair: Not a pleasant listening experience, the disc is damaged, just a stop gap before upgrading. Sleeve is badly damaged, not one to frame on the wall...

Poor: I don’t sell records in poor condition

Please note that in many cases Youtube clips are for reference and not from the record for sale

Part 1: Mini 48hr Auction

·        You may either enter the minimum amount or bid as high as you like in order to secure these records.

·        Bidding is an “up to” amount, meaning if you bid £160 and the second highest bid is £130, the winning bidder will just need to pay £135 (£5 over the 2nd highest bid)

Barry Blood–Poor Annie/ On The Run - Alaska Demo ( UK)

Here is a very rare chance to actually own this crunching Glam gem from Mr Blood in near perfect condition

SOLD

Cross Section–Rock 'n Roll Queen/ Lovin' Song - Self release(UK) Hear a sound clip from the record http://www.ecommerceplayer.com/MediaPlayer.aspx?id=39c3978a-5c20-4825-a3e2-944ca1d4fd0d

Self released really obscure Glam/Boogie cruncher on the B side of a mundane pop song. Low production values, it was all probably recorded and mixed in one afternoon in a dodgy demo studio

VG+ (slight warp not affecting play)

SOLD

Darkseid – Land of The Darker Sun/Ground Zero - Brooks (US) Hear sound clips from the record http://www.ecommerceplayer.com/MediaPlayer.aspx?id=6d52cec8-6653-4cb2-bef9-44bebaa7449d

As featured on Ultimate Bonehead v4. Real heavy Psych dirge of the highest (lowest order). Hear sound clips from the record itself

VG ( with some label damage  see pics)

SOLD

Han Shake– It's Revolting-Pye acetate (UK) Hear a full sound clip from the record itself  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yMzwvaN5h0

Unreleased one-sided Glam era acetate. With a title like It’s Revolting, you probably expect a no holds barred Proto Punk venom spewing Trasher, but  in fact you get something quite different. Han Shake serve(s) up a breezy, catchy but driving ditty. Kind of like McGuiness Flint meets Badfinger with a touch burgeoning Glam. You can easily imagine the same tune in full raucous Junkshop trappings, instead of its stripped back low-key delivery.

Looks VG+ but some crackle. I have not attempted to clean it

SOLD

Lenny Drake – Love Eyes/One Woman Man -Rated X -  (US) Hear a sound clip https://youtu.be/PcARvE_mqIQ

Perfect copy of this Belter.  Proto Punk, Garage, Bonehead…This single hits all the spots and then some; it really CUTS LOOSE! The B side is also good but a more straightforward garage track with a rickety beat and fuzz. Comped on Ulitmate Bonehead V1 and Brown Acid

EX

SOLD

Lucifer - Box set : 1) Fuck You/ Bad 2) Pr**k/Want It 3) Don't Care / Hypnosis

 Hear     https://youtu.be/ONo2r536wDo

  https://youtu.be/RWib5P3GD6k

First time I have seen it  in this format by this underground legend, I never knew this existed. This 1972 home made boxset (by the artist) regroups the first 3 Lucifer singles along with a promo photo of the man himself. The red box has some signs of handling, but the records seem unplayed.

Sweeny Bean – Rock 'N' Roll Wedding/Overcoat - Sonet (UK) Hear a sound clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t55aOX8V8Ew

Very obscure Heavy and hairy UK band who strangely ended up on Sonet in 1971. As featured on Bonehead Crunchers vol 3, this is one not to be missed.

Jan Berry - Universal Coward/ I Can't Wait To Love You - Liberty Promo Pic sleeve (US) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoBWe40pxHs

By a long way my favourite anti-protest song. Apart from the hilarious lyrics, the backing and tune are immense with its rich folkrock sound and wrecking crew backing. Dean was so disgusted by its right-wing sentiment that he refused to take part.  Funnily enough P.F Sloan was a long time Jan and Dean associate and Jan and Dean recorded Eve of Destruction on their Folk ' Roll LP. Go figure. This copy has the very rare pic sleeve in VG+ condition which justifies its price

Wilfred was not a person, but The Cherokees (from the Isle of Wight). Candle in The Wind is a thing of true beauty. British Popsike at its most endearing. The B side is more uptempo and also great

Gary Steel Sound -  Go Go Girl/I’ve Got A Feeling Coming On -Zel-La  (UK) Here a sound clip of both sides http://www.ecommerceplayer.com/MediaPlayer.aspx?id=dabc0a4f-a508-41b9-bb02-6339149a2991

Go Go Girl is a driving hypnotic rocker of the highest order. The chugging guitar is pure Mick Green (Pirates)/ Wilko johnson tight as can be with a cutting lead break. File in the same section as Mr Union Railway Man (Mississippi), Hey Hey Jump Now (One Hit Wonders) and Monopoly’s Gone Tomorrow. The B side is a slower tune with Hammond and striking Wah Wah stabs. The chorus is particularly strong.

VG with some damage/writing on labels

SOLD

Grapplers- Tonites The Nite/ Who Are They To You - Sonic Recordings (US)    Hear a sound clips of both sides https://youtu.be/cdoqWtyGqN4

The Grapplers featured 2 of the Starlust guys (see The Starlust listing) Both tracks are real scorchers featuring a fine raucous and raunchy sound. It captures a performance reminding of the Proto Punk of Streak with some Wowii moves thrown in.. Released on their own label it features a nice insert. Note I also have the unfindable over-sized sleeve version in the mini auction

Hammer, The- I'd Do It All Again/ 'Cos I'm in Love- EMI (NL) Her excerpts of both sides from the record itself https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ao-3IWVuINec-DI1yqDV5U4CoEj3?e=ZUdovp

This was Mark Boon's Hammer's 2nd single from the EX Smyle leader. Whereas their Hitchcock’s Lullaby is a crazy act of Glam lunacy, this one is a more sensible Powerpop/Glam release, with the A side being fine Powerpop and the B side more Glammy

J.C Livingstone - Momma Was a Steamroller Lady /Beautiful Sunday -Penny Farthing (UK )                                                      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIqjZyOrdUg

Propelled by savage pounding drums and featuring a nifty slide riff and brash guitars, Momma Was A Steamroller Lady (what a great title) is a real blustering rocker somewhere along the lines of Fortune Teller with a bit of Jumpin’ Jack Flash thrown in for good measure..This is Glam Rock filtered through 60’s garage Punk and it’s a real classic through and through

EX (not for sale sticker)

SOLD

Micky Moonshine-Baby Blue /Name It You Got It but plays unknown song on B side- Decca (UK) Hear a sound clip https://youtu.be/g8epfZhdIYs

EX

Ning- Machine/ More Ning- Decca (Ger) Hear a sound clip https://youtu.be/oXStV3IMDy4

This is completely nuts! From the twisted brain of Mike Berry (no, not that one...) File this as it Glam/ Bubblegum/ Heavy Rock and Prog with a bit of Suicide thrown in for good measure. With it’s pumping heartbeat rhythm, riff borrowed from The Music Explosion’s Little Bit Of Soul and a singer who sounds like a constipated Lemmy.

Believe it or not, but these guys later became Mancunian Punk band The Drones. Before all the" on the dole, I'm bored..." tripe, they were quite a good Teen/Glam band.
